640lb cheese blocks or 500lb cheese barrels are placed on the roller infeed conveyor, using a lifting device suitable for this application. Light curtains are provided for operator safety at the infeed and discharge. The block/barrel is pushed into the cutting area, using a stainless-steel pusher block. The block/barrel is pushed through a predetermined wire harp configuration. The cheese will move horizontally through the wire grid until the cheese exits the wire. It is now cut into multiple loaf sizes suitable for further processing. The block/barrel is discharged onto a transfer cart at the end of the cutting chamber. It can now be removed from the cutter by using a transfer cart. A new cart can be placed into the discharge position, and another block/barrel can be loaded onto the infeed of the cutter and the process is repeated.
